The IFC is offering an Intermediate Foil Class for Children, ages 7 to 13, with some prior fencing experience, such as the Beginners Fencing Class for Children.  Note: Children that have taken an introductory fencing class at any park district are welcome to register.

Participants will continue learning the basics of footwork and bladework. Specific fencing rules, technical skills and tactical strategies will be introduced.  Students begin their classes with warm-up games and stretches and then move on to footwork drills.  Bladework will focus on learning the four major parries, beat parries and beat attacks.  They will progress to bouting and learn to apply their skills.  Expect many games, surprises and lots of fun!

Two private lessons are included.

•  Ina Harizanova will be the instructor for this class.
• All necessary equipment (masks, gloves, weapons and jackets) is provided for your use by the club.  Wear loose fitting clothing:  t-shirt, sweatpants and sneakers.  It is also recommended that students bring a towel and sports drink.
• Foil Fencing will be the concentration.
• This class is limited to ten students.
• In order to participate, registration fees must be paid on the first day of class to the instructor.
